Cvent Acquires DoubleDutch to Accelerate Its Investment in Mobile Event Technology

Event technology giant Cvent gobbles up DoubleDutch, another company that continues to strengthen their foothold in the lucrative event-tech space. I want to also point out the news release we posted back on March 22nd regarding Community Brands acquisition of Mobile Event App Providers Core-apps and TripBuilder Media, and about one year ago today Community Brands also bought Expo Logic, an impressive event management tool equipped with facial recognition sign-in, exhibitor lead management, event reg and more.. It seems there’s a run on event tech right now and though we know Cvent is the elephant in the room, I’m having fun watching the dark-horse companies like Community Brands quietly turn in to viable competitors in the commercial and nonprofit market where that portfolio of products that include big roll-ups of Association Management and Nonprofit technologies have been their focus for years. Enough of my commentary though, below is the press release from Cvent.com

TYSONS, Va. – June 10, 2019 –  Cvent, a market-leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider, today announced that it has acquired DoubleDutch, one of the unique leaders in the mobile event app industry based in San Francisco. The acquisition of DoubleDutch highlights Cvent’s investment in the mobile technology space and will complement and grow the company’s signature mobile event app and onsite solution capabilities.

Mobile event apps are an integral part of the attendee experience, facilitating – and capturing – engagement that leads to higher event ROI and attendee satisfaction. By acquiring DoubleDutch, Cvent is expanding its commitment to the critically important onsite experience.

“DoubleDutch is an innovator in the mobile event app space and both Cvent and DoubleDutch have a shared mission to unlock the business value of human connection,” said Lawrence Coburn, CEO and founder of DoubleDutch. “We are incredibly proud to join the market-leading team at Cvent.
